MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR GOLF WORLD

All publications of The Golf Digest Companies are produced using computer-to-plate technology. All advertising material must be converted to digital form before plate making. For both parties to obtain the greatest benefits from a computer-to-plate workflow, please submit advertising material in one of the digital file formats listed below. We will no longer accept film. The Golf Digest Companies cannot be responsible for the inaccurate manufacturing of ads that are not supplied with clear copy guidance. We cannot accept responsibility for reproduction errors with ads submitted as application files or ads that do not adhere to SWOP standards.

Acceptable File Formats

PDFX1A, TIFF/IT-P1, CT/LW or raster-based DCS2 with a contract proof. If your existing pre-press vendor cannot supply a TIFF/IT file, please contact the QuadARM Call center to have the ad processed.

Additional Instructions

• Information should be supplied on a Macintosh formatted Zip or CD-ROM.
• Materials should include three files: final page (FP), continuous tone (CT) and line work (LW).
• CT file should comply with SWOP standards between 200 and 400 dpi. LW and HC files are 2400 dpi.
• Total density should not exceed SWOP, which is 300%.
• Any 5th or spot color should be in a separate file (please include a separate check list).
• All required trapping must be included in the file.
• Black text should be merged with the LW: right reading portrait mode only, 100% size, no rotations, standard trim and bleed marks in all separations.
• Use only PostScript fonts.
• Truetype fonts are unacceptable.
• Avoid using Multiple Master fonts.
• Images for 4/C ads must be submitted as final, high-resolution, CMYK files.
• Ads created in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, PowerPoint or any other word processing program WILL NOT be accepted.
• All digital pages should include a printout of contents of each disk supplied as well as correct copy information for content and positioning.

Preferred Color Guidance

Please provide a Kodak Approval, CREO Spectrum or Iris digital proofs for color guidance on press. The supplied color guidance must meet all SWOP specifications and must include a 6mm 5%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% CMYK patch strip for quality color.

If you choose not to provide a SWOP standard color proof, pleae include a waiver along with the file stating that it is ok to run without one.
