Ads that do not meet exact mechanical requirements will be returned.

HIV Plus accepts digital files only. Please provide your ad in one of the following formats.

Specifications. Native Applications—Macintosh formatted InDesign CS, QuarkXPress 6.0 or earlier (preferred), Illustrator CS, or Photoshop CS. No PC or PDF files accepted.

Digital File Special Instructions. Please include a proof from the file submitted and a printout of documentation noting fonts and files used to create the ad: a laser proof for B/W ads and a high-quality digital color proof (Kodak Approval, Iris, etc.) for color ads (color laser printouts are not high-quality and cannot be used to match color). HIV Plus takes no responsibility for the appearance of ads received on disk or e-mail not accompanied by a high-quality proof. Include all images in either EPS or TIFF (CMYK at 300DPI; no RGB or index color) and all screen and printer fonts (preferably Adobe fonts). Pantone colors constitute a fifth color, for which there is a substantial charge. Please contact the productio nmanager for approval. Any resizing or other necessary work on file will be billed at commercial rates.

Media. CD-ROM.

Additional Comments: Media will not be returned unless a prepaid shipping envelope is included.

Media Labeling. Advertiser name, issue date, contact, and phone number. For information concerning specs call the production manager at (323) 860-6078; fax (323) 957-9219. Digital submissions (up to 20MB) can be sent via e-mail. When e-mailing ads we suggest that you use Stuffit and create a self-extracting file. We have no support for other compression schemes. E-mail your ad to digitalad@out.com.

Trim Size. 7 7⁄8" wide x 10 1⁄2" deep.

Line Screen. 133-line inside; 150-line covers.

Live Matter. Keep live copy area 3⁄8" from trim edges. Allow 1⁄4" for gutter break in spreads.

Shipping Instructions. All media and proofs should be securely packed and protected to prevent any possible damage. Ship all material to: Production Manager, HIV Plus, 6922 Hollywood Blvd., Suite 1000, Los Angeles, CA 90028.

Printing/Binding. Web offset, SWOP standards apply. Cover Stock: 70# coated; body stock: 32# coated. Covers UV coated on front and back. Saddle-stitch binding.
