DIGTAL PROOFING FOR NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC

Accurate color reproduction may not be achievable on press if proofs are not made to SWOP specifications. Digital off-press proofs need to meet SWOP specifications and be verified to the SWOP Application Data Sheet.

The National Geographic Society requires that all ads be accompanied by a SWOP approved off-press or press color proof. To verify and confirm compliance to SWOP, all proofs must contain color bars that meet SWOP specifications.

The quality of paper used in the printing of the National Geographic Magazine exceeds the SWOP standard. This sometimes results in the printing of your ad not matching your SWOP compliant supplied proof. In order to help us match your proof as closely as possible, we request that you include the QuadChart target as part of your supplied proof. This will allow us to assess and compensate for any differences we see to give you the best possible printed results.
